This department provides a variety of building services throughout Gulf County: construction plan reviews, issues building permits, conducts building inspections, and provides code enforcement services.

ATTENTION
Gulf County has adopted the Florida Building 2023 eighth edition.

AS OF JANUARY 1,2025, THE GULF COUNTY ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH DEPARTMENT WILL NO LONGER BE ISSUING SEPTIC PERMIT. THE FLORIDA DEPARTMENT OF ENVIROMENTAL PROTECTION WILL BE THE ISSUING AGENCY. THIS APPLICATION WILL BE SUBMITTED ONLINE THROUGH THE FDEP PORTAL SETUP FOR SUCH. IT WILL BE THE RESONSIBILTY OF THE LANDOWNER TO VERIFY THAT THEIR APPLICATION MEETS ALL GULF COUNTY BOCC ORDINANCE AND DENSITY REQUIREMENTS PRIOR TO SUBMITTING TO FDEP FOR APPROVAL. FAILURE TO COMPLY MAY RESULT IN THE LANDOWNERS' APPLICATIONS MADE TO THE GULF COUNTY BUILDING DEPARTMENT FOR ANY BUILDING PERMITS BEING DENIED.
