Emergency Medical Services (EMS)
Gulf County Emergency Medical services is located in the panhandle area of Northwest Florida. We have an average call volume of 3000+ calls per year, which are handled by two full time ALS ambulances located in Port St. Joe, Florida, and one full time ALS ambulance located in Wewahitchka. Gulf EMS has a staff of approximately 50 paid employees both full and part time. Gulf County EMS provides emergency medical care and Community Paramedic services to a resident population base of approximately 16,000 and over 500 square miles.

We pride ourselves on being able to serve our citizens with the very best care that can be offered in a rural setting. Gulf County EMS is a professional organization continually seeking opportunities to serve our community through emergency operations, patient care, and excellent customer service and are always upgrading equipment in order to best serve our patients.
We do continuous education and training with our employees and have the ability to cover tuition for employees to further their education at local colleges. We also offer an explorer program that enables high school seniors the ability to ride along with EMS staff and receive hands on experience while under the supervision of our staff prior to attending school.
