EDC MEETING

Gulf County EDC will hold a special meeting on August 23, 2017 at 3:00 p.m., E.T. The sole purpose of this meeting will be to discuss regular EDC business.

Gulf County EDC will hold the meeting in the County Commission Board Room which is located in the Robert M. Moore Administration Building, 1000 Cecil G. Costin Sr. Blvd., Port St. Joe, Florida. The public is encouraged to attend. Individuals with disabilities wishing to attend, who will need special accommodations, should contact Lianna Sagins at (850) 229-6144.

Gulf County has committed funding ($350,000.00) from the State Housing Initiatives Partnership (SHIP) Program to provide Housing Rehabilitation Assistance and Purchase Assistance for approved Very Low, Low, and Moderate income single-family housing units throughout the County. Gulf County is currently accepting applications from Certified or Registered Building, Residential, and General Contractors that are interested in participating in the County’s SHIP Program. Minority and women-owned businesses are encouraged to participate. The County has made the application available at the following location:

Additionally, the applications are available online on the County’s website at Contractor Application SHIP 2017 form or you may request an application or additional information by contacting Joe Paul at 850-229-6125. Upon completion, applications must be submitted to Joe Paul, SHIP Administrator, at the Robert Moore Administration Building, 1000 Cecil G. Costin, Sr. Boulevard, Room #303, Port St. Joe, FL 32456.

Applications for the SHIP Program WILL NOT be made available until the Homeowner Application Workshops to be conducted on September 11, 2017, Port St Joe BOCC Commission meeting room and September 14, 2017 at the Agriculture Extension Office in Wewahitchka. For additional information or to see if you qualify, contact Joe Paul at 850-229-6125. If you are unable to attend either workshop, the SHIP applications will be available AFTER September 14th, 2017 at the address listed below. The hours of operation for our office are Monday & Thursday, 7:00 a.m.-5:30 p.m., E.T. For additional information regarding the County’s SHIP Program, please contact Joe Paul at (850) 229-6125.

HOMEOWNER APPLICATION WORKSHOPS

The Homeowner Application Workshops will be conducted in the Board of County Commissioners’ Chambers at the Robert Moore Administration Building, 1000 Cecil G. Costin, Sr. Boulevard, Port St. Joe, FL 32456. The County’s Homeowner Application Workshops will include a general presentation on the SHIP Programs and applications, followed by individual sessions with residents requiring assistance with the applications. The first workshop will be on September 11, 2017 from 2:00 p.m.-3:00p.m. ET and 5:00p.m.-6: 00p.m.ET in Port St Joe at the BOCC Commission meeting room. For your convenience, there will be a Homeowners Workshop conducted at the Agriculture Extension Office in Wewahitchka from 5:00p.m.-6:00p.m. CT on September 14, 2017. PUBLIC NOTICE 

A Public Hearing will be held before the Gulf County Planning and Development Review Board (PDRB) on Monday, August 21, 2017 at 8:45 A.M. EST and thereafter a Quasi-Judicial hearing before the Gulf County Board of County Commissioners (BOCC) meeting on Tuesday, August 22, 2017 at 9:00 A.M. EST.  Both the public hearing and the Qasi-Judicial hearing will be held in the Gulf County BOCC Meeting Room at the Robert M. Moore Administration Building, 1000 Cecil G. Costin Sr. Blvd., Port St. Joe, Florida.  The public hearing before the PDRB will be to discuss, review, and submit recommendations to the BOCC on the following: 

1. Final Plat Approval - Subdivision name: MONARCH BEACH - Applicant(s): Denise FERGUSON, Trustee - Parcel ID #06268-062R and 06268-063R - Located in Section 7, Township 9 South, Range 11 West, Gulf County, Florida - off of Cape San Blas Road - A 11 Lot Subdivision consisting of 11 Total Units over 4.1928 Acres.  

2.  Public Comment and Open Discussion

The public is encouraged to attend and be heard on these matters.  Information prior to the public hearing and Quasi-Judicial hearing can be viewed at the Planning Department at 1000 Cecil G. Costin Sr. Blvd., Room 311.

If a person decides to appeal any decision made by the board, agency or commission, with respect to any matter considered at such meeting or hearing, he will need a record of the proceedings, and that, for such purpose, he may need to ensure that a verbatim record of the proceedings is made, which record includes the testimony and evidence upon which the appeal is to be based.
