Local Mitigation Strategy
Gulf County is in the process of updating the LMS.  Any citizen who would like to have input on possible hazard identification or mitigation projects are encouraged to participate by filling out the comment form that is accessed at www.drc-group.com/lms/florida/gulf.  Citizens may also submit their comments to any of the following departments: Building, Emergency Management, Planning and County Administration.


             Flood Protection or Floodplain Management

Floodplain Management – Implementing the flood elevation and protection requirements of the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP) and Community Rating System (CRS) – ISO evaluation of the County Floodplain Management Program.

 Important Notice: The new April 16, 2009 FEMA Flood Insurance Rate Map (FIRM) are now the official maps for Gulf County.

Transportation Proportionate Fair Share Ordinance Payment by developments for impacts to the transportation system.

 


Planning and Development Review Board (PDRB) A five member board appointed by the Board of County Commissioners as an advisory board to the County Commissioners and meets monthly the third Monday at 8:30 am Eastern.


Evaluation and Appraisal Report (EAR) The five year process of evaluating the Comprehensive Plan required by F.S. 163

The 2007 EAR was adopted by the BOCC on October 23, 2007 and can be viewed by opening Forms and then open the 2007 EAR files.  These files may be slow to open.

The 2007 EAR supporting data files are too large for downloading.  Anyone needing the supporting data can contact the Planning Department.
